Richard of Rathfarnham

As I was named by a friend on seeing this picture. We were in a sandstorm leaving the Sahara in Mauritania. It was eery, the light was harsh and bright, but yet dark and all pervasive. Sand had gotten into my camera, and the lens would not pop out as it should, then close itself and turn off the camera. This shot was a once off snap before it stopped working for a longer period of time. For a while I was afraid that was the end it, luckily it was not.
